Pokémon Café ReMix: Linking Puzzles, Café Staff, and Platform Save Rules
Explore Pokémon Café ReMix’s swirling icon puzzles, Pokémon staff, recipe goals, Switch touch controls, and the important limits on moving saves between platforms.

A café run by Pokémon
Pokémon Café ReMix is a puzzle game for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android. It began as Pokémon Café Mix in June 2020; Nintendo announced the expanded ReMix update as available on October 28, 2021. The café's staff and customers are Pokémon, so collecting partners is connected to preparing dishes and drinks rather than to a battle journey across a region.
The premise gives a puzzle a clear purpose. Completing an order serves a customer, while a growing staff changes the characters involved in preparing it. The official site emphasizes a warm illustrated style instead of the presentation of a conventional RPG. Familiar species such as Eevee appear in another role: a café partner whose usefulness belongs to the puzzle system.
Linking is a moving gesture
Puzzles are solved by linking matching Pokémon icons and swirling them together. Linked icons clear from the board, and the order supplies the objective. The important difference from a static matching grid is the gesture itself: you are gathering icons through motion rather than swapping a pair of fixed tiles and waiting for an automatic line clear.
For a useful learning goal, watch what happens to the remaining icons when a chain moves through them. Then compare a shorter deliberate chain with a longer one that does not help the objective as directly. The point is to understand how movement and clearing relate to the order, not to assume that the longest possible gesture is always the most effective action.
Staff and skills give collecting a role
The official overview connects Pokémon staff to café skills and the preparation of recipes. ReMix added more Pokémon, modes, events, and dress-up options to the original presentation. Those additions make collection and appearance part of the café, but a staff member's gameplay contribution should still be read from the current in-game description rather than inferred from its core-series type.
A focused session can begin with the order's requirements and the available staff. Decide which partner helps the specific task, then pay attention to when its skill becomes useful. That creates a clearer learning loop than choosing a favorite design for every puzzle and assuming its effect must suit every ingredient. A character can be appealing and still answer a different objective from the one currently on screen.
Switch and mobile saves do not merge
Pokémon Support confirms that save data cannot be transferred between the Nintendo Switch version and the mobile version. Sharing a title does not create shared progress across those platforms. The original Switch release also uses touch controls in handheld play, so its interaction should not be assumed to work like an ordinary television-based button game.
Moving between mobile devices is a separate supported process described in the official transfer guide. Set up the appropriate transfer method before replacing or reinstalling a device, and keep private recovery information private. A mobile-device transfer is not a workaround for the Switch restriction. Identify the starting platform and the destination before deciding which support instructions apply.
| Move between | Save-transfer position |
|---|---|
| Switch and mobile | Saves cannot transfer between these versions |
| One mobile device and another | Use the official mobile transfer process |
| Same game title on another platform | Does not by itself establish shared progress |
Read current orders and promotions
Café ReMix is free to start with optional purchases. Events, staff availability, and offers can change, so a launch announcement explains the history of the update rather than the complete current schedule. Read the current event dates and requirements inside the game before planning around a particular Pokémon or outfit. A promotional image alone does not establish an acquisition route.
This overview was checked on October 4, 2026, including the current official save-transfer answers. Friends is a useful comparison if you prefer a sequence of different small puzzles feeding a plush collection. Café ReMix instead ties its recognizable linking gesture to orders and staff. Our own games section offers other Pokémon-themed puzzle ideas, while each official title retains its own rules, saves, and collection systems.
