30th Celebration: a guide to the anniversary set
Explore the anniversary set’s day-and-night artwork, Pikachu rare cards, Classic Collection and different collecting goals.

An anniversary with several collections inside it
30th Celebration launched worldwide on September 16, 2026. The official overview describes more than 150 cards, 30 Pikachu rare cards and 30 Classic Collection cards. Day and night provide the visual thread across the expansion, alongside new illustrations and nostalgic reprints.
The useful first decision is what you want to collect. A numbered main-set binder, a Pikachu-focused page and a retrospective of older card designs are different projects. Trying to finish them all at once can make a cheerful anniversary feel like an enormous checklist. Choose a manageable starting point and leave room to change it once you have seen the artwork.
Read the card before choosing its pocket
A Pokémon name alone does not identify a printing. Compare the expansion, collector number and printed rarity. Two cards featuring Pikachu can have different illustrations and attacks; a foil version of another card can be a finish of the same printing. Keep those distinctions visible when you organize a binder.
Our card catalogue gives each indexed printing its own page, with recorded attacks, rules and supported finishes. Use it to inspect the card content before deciding how to group a physical collection. The catalogue is also useful for spotting a card you enjoy that is not the one being discussed most often.
The Classic Collection has a different purpose
The anniversary main set and the Classic Collection should not be treated as the same tournament card pool. The official TCG Live announcement explicitly says that the Classic Collection subset is not tournament legal. A favorite historic design can still make an excellent display card without belonging in a Standard deck.
For a history binder, write the original era on a divider and place the anniversary printing beside a note about the older design. That creates a readable story across your pages. For a playing binder, make a separate section for cards you actually intend to use, then check current legality before building the deck.
On Poke Fun Play, every supported anniversary card and finish is attainable through simulated pack openings, including all thirty Classic Collection cards. The three Classic cards from the Red, Green and Blue prebuilt decks are included as rare supplemental anniversary hits. That is a collector-friendly rule of this website, not a claim that those deck-exclusive printings appear in physical boosters. Open eligible anniversary packs from the card page or binder to keep collecting without relying on Dust.
Choose an opening goal, then enjoy the art
Poke Fun Play provides a simulated opening and collection for this set. The wrapper and reveal order change presentation rather than the underlying result. Browsing the public card pages does not spend Dust or alter your collection, so you can plan a binder before opening a pack.
A satisfying collecting session does not have to end with a rare pull. Try finding three illustrations that share a location, choosing one card from each time of day or comparing a Pokémon across different artistic styles. Those small goals help make repeated openings interesting without pretending that any purchase guarantees a particular card.
Anniversary pack odds on Poke Fun Play
Each simulated pack contains six foil cards, including one Pikachu rare and one anniversary Basic Energy. Energy reveals first, while rarity order leaves the highest-tier non-Energy pull for last.
The updated estimated chances per pack are 21.02% for a Double Rare, 19.72% for an Illustration Rare, 10.15% for a Classic Collection card, 4.88% for a Special Illustration Rare and 0.83% for a Futuristic Rare. These use newer reported community observations rather than official guaranteed odds. Different rarity pools occupy different pack positions, so the percentages do not describe one combined exclusive draw.
All three RGB Mew cards remain attainable with a combined 0.1% chance in our simulator. That separate game rule supports binder completion and does not represent measured physical-booster odds. Updating the model never rerolls a pack you have already started.
