A collection service with two interfaces

Pokémon HOME is a collection and connection service for Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android, launched on February 12, 2020. It gathers Pokémon from supported games and provides tools for examining and organizing them. The Switch and mobile applications serve different functions, so installing one version does not mean every feature described on the website is available in that interface.

Think of a transfer plan as a route for one particular Pokémon, rather than a promise attached to a species name. Its origin, the destination game's supported Pokémon, and earlier transfers can all matter. A Pikachu stored in HOME does not automatically have permission to enter every Pokémon game. The official service also offers paid features, including the Premium requirement for moving Pokémon from Bank.

Check the individual Pokémon before moving it

Pokémon Support recommends the Games it can travel to area in the mobile Pokémon Details screen. Gray icons indicate destinations that are unavailable for that Pokémon. In the Switch application, the corresponding information appears under Check Summary and Connected Games. This is a more useful final check than an old compatibility chart, especially when a service update adds another game.

The current official connection page includes Legends: Z-A, Scarlet and Violet, Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, Sword and Shield, and the Let's Go pair. It also distinguishes sending Pokémon to visit Pokémon Champions from moving them between compatible adventures. Those verbs are deliberate: a visit should not be described as a permanent transfer into a different collection.

GO and Bank are one-way entrances

Pokémon transferred from GO to HOME cannot return to GO. The process requires the same Nintendo Account, a completed HOME mobile tutorial, and receiving the transferred Pokémon in HOME. A HOME Premium Plan is not required for the GO connection. Some Pokémon are ineligible, and certain rare GO-origin Pokémon face additional destination-game registration restrictions.

Bank-to-HOME transfers require HOME Premium and cannot be reversed back into Bank. Nintendo has announced that Pokémon Bank ends service on February 25, 2027 at 7 p.m. PST; Bank-to-HOME transfers end with it. Bank is already unavailable for new downloads. An old 3DS transfer project therefore depends on software already obtained and a limited remaining service window.

Let’s Go and moves have their own rules

HOME can move Pokémon between the compatible Let's Go games. However, a Pokémon from that pair cannot return to its original game after it has been moved into a game outside the pair. This is another reason to check the complete route before confirming a move, rather than assuming that depositing a Pokémon always preserves every possible return path.

The Switch application also provides a move-selection feature when sending Pokémon into supported games. The choices are limited to eligible moves and destinations; they are not a guarantee that a partner retains an identical move list everywhere. Read the destination information alongside the summary. Keeping a beloved partner and reproducing a particular older battle setup are two different transfer goals.

Use HOME to organize a story, not just a total

The mobile Guidebook includes species information, while the Catch Calendar arranges Pokémon by their catch dates. Those tools offer two ways to read a collection: as a catalog of species or as a record of journeys. That distinction is useful when deciding which partners to preserve before a service closes or when choosing a collection goal across several supported adventures.

This guide's connection and service facts were checked on October 4, 2026. Before an irreversible transfer, use the in-app eligibility display and current official support pages again. Our Pokédex can help identify a species and explore its wider history, but it cannot determine the transfer permission of the individual Pokémon in your HOME account.
