Slide adjacent picture tiles into the empty square. Rebuild Pokémon artwork on a solvable three-by-three or four-by-four board.
How to play
- Tap a tile beside the empty square to slide it. Restore the picture, leaving the blank in the bottom-right corner of a 3×3 or 4×4 board.
- The game begins when the page opens. Change its settings for a fresh challenge, or use the restart control for another round.
Strategy tips
Solve a row or column at a time. The blank is a tool for moving other tiles around a cycle, rather than a picture piece that needs its own destination.
Use the preview to recognise edges and details. New picture changes the Pokémon, while a fresh round scrambles it using legal moves.
Why will a picture tile not move into the blank?
Only a tile directly beside the blank can slide: above, below, left or right. A diagonal tile cannot move there, and you cannot swap two occupied squares. Tap the adjacent tile or drag it onto the empty space. Jigsaw uses a different two-piece swap rule.
How can the picture preview help without solving the board?
Use it to identify corners, borders and which pieces belong in the same row. Try completing a row or column while leaving the blank room to cycle the remaining pieces. Preview can be switched off when you want a harder visual challenge; New picture creates another round.
Can a starting sliding puzzle be impossible to solve?
Every starting board is solvable because it is scrambled through legal slides, rather than an arbitrary rearrangement. You may need to cycle several pieces to restore an edge before progressing; one piece looking close to home does not mean it can move directly there.
